What are Little Blue Towels?
These towels have been collected from hospitals where they have been used to dry steralised hands. Normally discarded after a single use, they have been collected and then expertly laundered and packaged by Laundry Mates, an enterprise owned and operated by people with disabilities living in or near Echuca, Victoria.
Participating Hospitals
Little Blue Towels are collected from participating hospitals across Victoria and Southern NSW, including The Epworth Hospital, St. Vincents, Goulburn Valley Health, Bendigo Health, Warringal Private Hospital, Mildura Base Hospital, Northeast Health & Echuca Regional Health. From there, they are laundered, folded and packed ready for sale.
100% of Proceeds of the sale of these recycled cotton towels go to the OTIS Foundation which is the legacy of Judy Burley. Throughout her own battle with breast cancer, Judy found great comfort in natural settings, including her rural Victorian property. Her vision was to provide a sanctuary to others facing similar challenges so that they could also benefit from the nurturing, comforting and resorative power of nature while living with serious illness.
The OTIS Foundation provides a network of retreat accommodation at no cost to those living with the challenges of breast cancer, letting guests relax, reconnect and take a break from breast cancer with family, friends and supporters.
Each year, the OTIS Foundation offers more than 3,000 nights of accommodation to its guests and their families. Your purchase of Little Blue Towels will help the OTIS Foundation to continue its work and expand the number of retreats it offers.
